Project Case Study: Red Sea International Airport, Saudi Arabia
Crafting a Sustainable Gateway with Precision Metalwork
The Red Sea International Airport is designed to be a gateway to one of the world’s most unique luxury and sustainable tourism destinations. Inspired by the natural desert landscape, the architecture demands organic curves, sustainable materials, and a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor spaces.
Our company was selected to provide several critical architectural metal systems, manufactured to precise tolerances to achieve the project’s complex, flowing design.
Key Metalwork Solutions Provided:
Curved Aluminum Cladding & Roofing: We fabricated the 3mm thick aluminum roof cladding and exterior ceiling panels. This scope included manufacturing highly complex single and double curved panels that form the airport’s signature sweeping canopy and roof eaves, as seen during the installation phase.
Perforated Aluminum Interior Ceilings: A key feature of the interior lounges is the 2.5mm thick perforated aluminum ceiling. With a precise 1.5mm hole diameter, this system is designed to create a dappled light effect, mimicking light filtering through a desert oasis, while also providing superior acoustic performance.
Bespoke Stainless Steel Panels: We also supplied 2mm stainless steel trough panels, which were used to create striking vertical decorative elements and baffle ceilings, contributing to the terminal’s high-end, luxury aesthetic in key passenger areas.
