From Workshop to Landmark: A Legacy of Global Hotel Fabrication

The W Brisbane Hotel is a landmark of modern luxury and a prime example of our trusted, long-standing partnership with the W brand. As a key fabrication partner for over 10 W Hotel projects, both domestically and internationally, XYC Metalworks was commissioned to translate Brisbane’s ambitious, complex designs into reality.

This project highlights our capability to manage the entire fabrication lifecycle, from precision engineering in our workshop to final delivery:

Signature Lobby Screens: The most prominent feature is the series of curved, vertical fins in the lobby. We fabricated these large-scale elements from stainless steel, applying a flawless black mirror PVD finish. Our challenge was to perfectly form the complex, organic curves while maintaining a distortion-free, high-gloss surface that reflects the hotel’s interior and iconic “W” logo.

Bespoke Fixtures & Details: Our work extended to the intricate details that define the hotel’s brand, including the custom PVD gold bar fronts and various decorative art pieces, such as the “pineapple” and “birdcage” fixtures.

Logistics & Finishing: From our workshop, every piece was meticulously inspected, protected, and packed in custom wooden crates to ensure that the pristine mirror finishes arrived on-site in perfect condition, ready for installation.
