Engineering Innovation: A Patented Solution for Modern Luxury
The White Swan Hotel is one of China’s most iconic five-star brands. For its new, modern Caiyi Wing, XYC Metalworks was commissioned to provide a comprehensive architectural metal package, centered on the lobby’s technically complex grand staircase.
This project highlights our core strength: moving beyond fabrication to provide true engineering innovation. The original staircase design presented significant structural challenges. Our in-house engineering team developed a technical upgrade and an innovative new structural solution for the multi-story, illuminated staircase. This solution, which allowed the stone steps to “float” within a delicate bronze balustrade, was so successful that it is now a registered patent held by XYC Metalworks.
Our full-service scope included:
Patented Grand Staircase: Complete engineering, fabrication, and installation of the complex steel stringers, tread supports, and the final balustrade of floor-to-ceiling, PVD bronze-finished vertical metal rods.
Lobby Screens & Partitions: Fabrication of the elegant, curved lobby screens from PVD Champagne Gold stainless steel tubes.
Elevator Interiors & Art: Production of fluted, PVD bronze elevator doors, mirror-polished wall panels, and the large-scale “butterfly” and “mountain” art installations.
